The initiative will accelerate AI-powered solutions across topics like health, resilience and economy.
MEXICO CITY, September 23, 2026 – TOJIL has been announced as a recipient of Google.org’s $30 million Google.org Impact Challenge: AI for Government Innovation to support organizations building AI tools for public services. The funding has been given to 15 nonprofits, social enterprises and academic institutions around the world that are partnering directly with governments to use AI to improve public services for communities – from everyday essential services to complex societal challenges. Organizations will also participate in a dedicated Google.org Accelerator, receiving pro bono support from Google engineers and product experts to build human-centered AI tools. Google.org is excited to support TOJIL as they leverage AI towards driving societal impact for communities, and plans to continue funding meaningful initiatives that exemplify AI’s ability to transform how public services function for social good.
“At TOJIL, we feel honored to be the only civil society organization in Latin America selected in this edition of this global strategy, and we are excited to apply the knowledge and support we will receive from Google.org to build—in close collaboration with the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Oaxaca—a series of technological tools and solutions for the benefit of the communities it serves,” stated TOJIL’s executive team.

With this support, TOJIL will implement the ‘Justicia en Movimiento’ (Justice in Motion) project, which will use artificial intelligence to reduce the time public prosecutors’ offices take to attend to cases and increase access to justice. This tool aims to automate the drafting of legal documents and send case updates to victims to decrease the administrative workload.
